When transplanting sweet potatoes, most people simply insert the seedlings into the soil without much thought.  But transplanting method matters much for sweet potato yield, in addition to soil and fertilizer.

The HUAYO AGRO sweet potato transplanter uses an oblique planting method, inserting the sweet potato seedlings into the soil at a 20-30 degree angle.  Generally, three nodes should be inserted into the soil. This allows more than three nodes in the underground portion to simultaneously produce sweet potatoes, resulting in at least three more sweet potatoes per plant compared to the straight-planting method.

Recommended planting depth for sweet potato seedlings can be around 4-5 cm. Whether planting obliquely, generally 2-3 nodes should be left above the soil, with approximately 3-4 leaves. The remaining nodes and leaves should be planted in the soil, neither too many nor too few. Watering is necessary after transplanting.

Sweet Potato are deep rooted plant, which is suitable to plant in deep cultivated , loosed soil.

The soil for planting sweet potatoes should have a deep soil layer, a loose structure, rich organic matter content, good drainage and ventilation, and large soil porosity to meet the oxygen requirements for potato expansion.

So we can make 30cm planting ridge with Rotary Cultivator before the transplanter.
