Project Description

The Sorghum Harvester, is the combine harvester, or simply combine, which harvests grain crops.  It can harvest Sorghum efficiently, by  combining three separate operations comprising harvesting—reaping, threshing, and winnowing—into a single process.
You can harvest sorghum using row crop or sickle bar headers. Raise the header high enough to harvest only the grain heads with a minimum of leaves and stalks

How does the 4HYM-1.2L Sorghum Harvester work?

The cutter bar cuts the Sorghum crops down,  leads to a revolving reel and then gathers these cut crops. These cut Sorghum crops head are then pushed into the threshing area, which very quickly separates the grains from the stalks. From here, the Sorhgum grains are pushed into another bin, which eventually gets unloaded onto a truck.

What is the harvestable maturity of sorghum ?

Sorghum reaches the stage of physiological maturity when the grain’s water content is around 35%. It is possible to harvest from 30% humidity but in general the grain’s desiccation is quick and the harvest begins from humidity level between 18 and 25%.

What is sorghum farming?

Commercial sorghum is the cultivation and commercial exploitation of species of grasses within the genus Sorghum (often S. bicolor, sometimes Sorghum arundinaceum). These plants are used for grain, fibre and fodder. The plants are cultivated in warmer climates worldwide.
